Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 9, 2026

This policy explains what information Tallingo (“we”, “us”) collects when you use tallingo.com, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].

1. What we collect

Account information. When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address, the name and profile image you choose to share, and any sign-in identifiers (e.g., Google ID) tied to the method you use. We don’t see or store passwords.

Profile and progress. When you play, we store the display name, emoji, and team or age-group label you set, plus your XP, streaks, badges, completed levels, and best scores per track. Coaches and program directors additionally have records of teams or programs they create, members who join, and homework or assessment completion data.

Local device storage. Some progress data (recent activity, UI preferences, anonymous progress before sign-in) is kept in your browser’s local storage on your device. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.

Aggregate traffic data. Cloudflare Web Analytics records anonymized, server-side metrics about page views and performance. It does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not identify individual visitors.

2. How we use it

  • To provide the product: track your progress, award XP and badges, populate leaderboards, and let coaches manage teams or programs.
  • To debug issues and improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns.
  • To respond to direct messages you send us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run advertising on the site and we do not use your data to train external advertising or marketing models.

3. What is visible to other users

Your chosen display name, emoji, total XP, streak, and badge counts can appear on public leaderboards and to other members of teams or programs you join. Your email address and real name (if different from your display name) are never shown to other users.

4. Service providers

We rely on a small number of third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

  • Clerk— authentication and account management.
  • Cloudflare— site hosting, API hosting, data storage (KV), and anonymous web analytics.
  • Stripe— payment processing for paid Coach and Program tiers. Stripe receives the information necessary to process your subscription (name, email, billing address, payment card details). Tallingo does not see or store your full card number.

We do not share your information with anyone else except to comply with a valid legal request.

5. Cookies and similar tech

Clerk sets a small number of cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not set any advertising or tracking cookies. The site does not embed third-party social or analytics widgets that would set their own cookies.

6. Children’s privacy

Tallingo is intended for users age 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not create an account; ask a parent or coach to create one and use the site with you. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it. Parents who believe their child has given us information without consent can email [email protected] and we will remove the account.

7. Your choices

You can:

  • Update your display name, emoji, team, or age-group label at any time from your player card.
  • Leave any team or program you joined.
  • Email us to request a copy of the data tied to your account, or to request that your account and associated data be deleted.
  • Clear local browser storage at any time via your browser settings.

8. Data security

Authentication is handled by Clerk, which uses industry-standard encryption for credentials. Data stored in Cloudflare KV is encrypted at rest. Communication with the site uses TLS. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, email us right away.

9. Where data is stored

Tallingo runs on Cloudflare’s global edge network. Your data may be stored or processed in any country where Cloudflare or Clerk operates, including the United States.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
